Training workshop on concepts and best practices

Enterprise Partners organised a training workshop held at the Momona Hotel in Addis Ababa, on June 12th, 2017. The workshop was led by international consulting groups commissioned to produce a comprehensive report on the sustainable eco-industrial development of industrial parks in Ethiopia. Hawassa Industrial Park was discussed as a model of eco-industrial development which could be replicated across Ethiopia.

The Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), investors, local municipalities, and the government of Ethiopia attended the workshop to participate in training. There were round table discussions on how to build environmentally sustainable policies and systems that would lead to the implementation of green industrialisation practices throughout the country. 

The stakeholders present agreed to reconvene in a few months to discuss preparation and implementation strategies for a national roadmap on green industrialisation, with the intention of raising finance for the project over the coming year.
