Upon the request of the Ministry of Industry, Enterprise partners facilitated a 5-day training on the Market for the Poor (M4P) approach. The training took place from May 29th– June 1st at the Liesak Resort, Bishoftu, Ethiopia where the relevant staff from the Ministry of Industry participated. Participants were equipped with an understanding of the M4P method to realize systemic and sustainable development goals.
The workshop enabled participants to gain a better understanding of the market systems approach, the influence of patterns of market players on the market system, prioritization and selection of interventions fitting for the market and diagnosis of root causes hindering inclusive and sustainable growth.
Twenty four participants were in attendance including government staff, DFID and EP staff, who were trained on the concept of the Markets Systems development approach. Participants have reported they are now comfortable with market system development principles and approaches to their interventions.
